It´s the fact that your values are of value to you that makes them selfish. A value that´s not of value is a contradiction in terms. Therefore; selfishness is inherent in the nature of values.

So, you can´t have any values without being selfish. And morality, or ethics, is about values. This means that it´s impossible to be moral without being selfish. A totally selfless person is a person without any personal interests, and that´s a person without values.
